Meet Our Team

David Donnelly

I’ve always emphasized to my children the value of surpassing expectations; a principle I apply in every professional engagement we take on. When I co-founded Trinity Health Advisors, I drew on over four decades of healthcare experience to build a team that shares our core values and expertise, enabling us to deliver innovative solutions to health systems, as well as the physicians and APPs working within them.

My current success stems from the lessons I learned as a field medic with Austin/Travis County EMS. The ability to quickly build trust, apply clinical knowledge, and solve complex problems with limited resources are skills I use every day. My experience working with both the largest hospital system and the largest hospital-based medical group in the U.S. provides me a unique perspective on how to lead, align diverse groups, and drive measurable change at a national level, which is just as applicable when change is needed at a market level.

My father had a saying, “Old enough to know the score, young enough to play the game.” To me, this meant being wise enough to analyze a problem and capable enough to achieve the desired result. This is the mindset I bring to our clients—experience, determination, and a commitment to exceeding their expectations whenever they partner with Trinity.

Experience:

  • HCA Chief Operating Officer – Anesthesia Service Line
  • Transitioned more than 30 HCA facilities to anesthesia employed service model
  • Led HCA consulting team who negotiated outsourced physician agreements for hospital-based service lines (e.g., radiology, anesthesia, EM/HM, etc.)
  • VP of Anesthesia Operations & RCM for Envision Healthcare (formerly Sheridan/AmSurg)

Patrick Solomon

With over two decades of experience leading national groups providing hospital-based physician services, I have established a reputation for bringing solutions to hospitals with a direct, data-driven approach. Philosophically, I come from a provider advocate perspective in optimizing clinical care teams. Math provides guidance, but the long-term solution requires creating a culture where clinicians feel like they have a hospital partner.

I am fluent in understanding the landscape of both independent and national private equity funded provider groups. Finding a strategic path to achieve the hospital’s long-term goals with their provider groups is one area of expertise that sets Trinity Health Advisors apart from the more generalized healthcare consulting firms. My operational experience transitioning more than fifty groups from one employer to another allows me to provide a full service from analysis and design to implementing the solution.

I am a student of the game of hockey and come to a client with a coach’s mindset. The ability to “read the play” and advise hospitals on tradeoffs of decisions is critical in avoiding costly mistakes. Just as a championship hockey team succeeds through precision, strategy, and teamwork, I will bring to you lessons learned from leading groups through difficult situations.

Success comes from strong collaboration, disciplined execution, and a commitment to constantly look for improvement – just like in hockey.

Experience:

  • SVP Operations – Sheridan Healthcare
  • President of Anesthesia – Envision Healthcare
  • Chief Strategy Officer – Amsurg/Envision Healthcare
  • Chief Development Officer – U.S. Anesthesia Partners
  • Director/Consultant – VMG Health
